Yahoo! article on Steven Hawkings’s view of aliens. I thought it was interesting to read this article right after watching the movie “Contact”. The aliens in the movie were pretty much benevolent creatures–unless they didn’t actually exist (watch the movie, it’s good!). I think I prefer Sagan’s view of nicer aliens to Hawkings’s view, which is similar to that in “Independence Day”. But we’ll never know unless and until we make contact with aliens.
