Article: I’m Christian, unless you’re gay.
I read this blog post earlier and was blown away. It’s very touching and heartfelt, and gets at an issue that a lot of us know about but don’t necessarily talk about. Although the author talks mainly about the issue in relation to homosexuality and Christianity, I think that it can most definitely be expanded to include religious beliefs as well.
The post talks about the struggles of the author and his good friend, who’s gay. The issue is how the author has seen people claiming to be religious and claiming to live up to “love all” actually turn out to be hateful and gossipy and not very loving at all, and only because they take exception to homosexuality (or anyone not like them).
It’s a bit long, but it’s compelling, and I highly recommend everyone go read this post and spread it around. And remember the message the author gets at: Love all. No exceptions.
